Falling Stars

Snow

Snow swirls in moonlit silhouette
As if the universe has frozen
And the stars are falling to earth
Silently it falls through night sky
Drops in its brief victory till ruin
Yet just momentarily it is eternal
And all I wish for then,
Is to sleep upon this blanket of cold?
Merge into the fallen, yielding layers
And cool high ideals with the icy realism
Nothing is ever as it first appears
